After a long absence, a Giant returns home and drives the children out of his beautiful garden. He builds a high wall, but then spring and summer never arrive. While flowers bloom everywhere else, snow and frost rule his garden. What must happen for the garden to come alive again?

Every afternoon after school, the children ran to a large garden. It belonged to a Giant, but he had been away for many years. The garden was beautiful. Soft green grass covered the ground. Flowers that shone like little stars grew among it. Twelve peach trees stood there. In spring they bore delicate pink blossoms, and in autumn sweet golden fruit.
