On an old farm lived a dog named Sultan. For many years, he had guarded the house, the yard, and the animals. He knew every gate, every path, and every sound in the night. Now Sultan had grown old. His teeth were blunt, his legs tired quickly, and sometimes he did not hear at once when someone called him. Even so, he still watched over everything carefully.
